Growing The Veg Box

 

The Growing the Veg Box project was established in 2007.

Since then it has grown from a food co-operative serving the Abersychan ward to a Torfaen-wide social enterprise delivering fruit, veg and salad to hundreds of customers three days a week.

While much of our produce is sourced from local suppliers we also supplement our boxes with fresh produce cultivated in our own growing stations in Garndiffaith and Varteg. Not only does this allow us to provide fresh, low cost produce it also means that we reduce food miles and allows us to provide opportunities for volunteers to gain skills and experience in horticulture.

Growing our own produce also means we can provide varieties that people may not have come across before!
