Technowise

TechnoWise is the flagship Social Enterprise ICT project managed by the charity ‘Garnsychan Partnership’. The project has been fully functioning since August 2011 and works in partnership with local organisations and residents to recycle IT equipment of all ages and commercial waste. We work in partnership with Torfaen County Borough Council to help them meet the target set for all Welsh local authorities of 40% recycled waste. ICT waste has been recognised as a particular issue due to the high proportion of metal used in older IT equipment.

We provide a wide range of services to help reduce, reuse and recycle, and make Torfaen a cleaner and greener place to live. TechnoWise is playing a key role in helping to reduce waste in the community, in addition to educating the public about the overall benefits of recycling. During the past three years, Garnsychan Partnership and its associated projects have won recognition from other waste industry and business partners and is recognised to be one of the most effective community recycling schemes currently operating in Wales, therefore, the ICT recycling arm is a natural growing addition to the overall aims & objectives of this social enterprise.
