Why buy from growing the Veg Box?

We are a Social enterprise that is committed to supporting and developing the local community. We have and will continue to form connections within communities, increasing community interaction and interdependences. We want to help bring communities together, increasing economic empowerment, skills and training and promoting community independence.

We use local volunteers and provide placement opportunities to local people, which can make a real difference to people’s lives by widening participation and tackling social exclusion, opening up an exciting network of people and experiences and providing tools for personal development and improving many skills.

We aim to expand our project so that we can become sustainable and continue to provide our communities with good, locally grown, healthy food at low prices.

This project is the only one of its kind in existence in Torfaen and already supports a large customer base with the potential to supply fresh fruit and vegetables to many more people. The non-profit scheme is open to everyone living in Torfaen but priority will be given to excluded groups; people with disabilities, the elderly, lone parents and low-income families.
