Growing the Veg Box – School Satellite Projects

 We are in the process of setting many school satellite projects. These projects will be run by the school children themselves as a school social enterprise. We also work with the schools to develop growing patches and hold regular lesson with the children on growing, maintaining and harvesting fresh fruit and vegetables.

 This project is the only one of its kind in existence in Torfaen and already supports a large customer base with the potential to supply fresh fruit and vegetables to many more people. The non-profit scheme is open to all living in Torfaen but priority will be given to excluded groups; people with disabilities, the elderly, lone parents and low-income families.
