Growing

Our Gardener has worked with volunteers to landscape the Veg Box grounds which we now use to grow fresh fruit and vegetables.

We have several growing stations throughout Torfaen that are maintained by our gardener and volunteers from the local communities.

In addition to the Veg Box grounds we have a small allotment nearby, which is also used to grow produce. The Garnsychan and CoStar Partnerships are working together to achieve the project objectives, with CoStar taking the lead on setting up the growing stations throughout Torfaen whilst the Garnsychan Partnership is working to increase our customer base and manage the distribution elements of the project.

We are currently supplementing our bags with lettuce, chard, radish, fennel, blueberries, celery and much more.

We have growing starter kits which we will offer free to local community members. We aim to encourage and support the set-up of individual veg patches so our gardener will visit peoples garden’s and offer practical support and advice.
