We provide a wide range of services to help reduce, reuse and recycle, and make Torfaen a cleaner and greener place to live. TechnoWise is playing a key role in helping to reduce waste in the community, in addition to educating the public about the overall benefits of recycling. During the past three years, Garnsychan Partnership and its associated projects have won recognition from other waste industry and business partners and is recognised to be one of the most effective community recycling schemes currently operating in Wales, therefore, the ICT recycling arm is a natural growing addition to the overall aims & objectives of this social enterprise.

TechnoWise collects ICT equipment from schools, hospitals, businesses and individuals, then renovate and repair them. All donations of computers, their components and peripherals/accessories, regardless of age or condition are welcomed.  Our qualified technicians then endeavour to give the equipment a comprehensive refurbishment, ensuring industry standard data protection procedures are applied before making it available for re-sale at low cost. TechnoWise is also a Microsoft Registered Refurbisher to ensure new owners are legally covered for their OEM software. If refurbishment is not possible, we recycle the components, in order to comply with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive), having acquired the exemptions for carrying out such activities in-house or using relevant partner agencies where necessary. The project possesses all relevant licences relating to the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive and staff are trained to complete Portable Appliance Testing (PAT), enabling goods to reach EU Health and Safety standards.
